When studying Hotel Management, I never imagined it would give me so much personal and professional satisfaction. As I began my career, I had the opportunity to work as a Conference Concierge for the Fiesta Americana Coral Beach Hotel, this introduced me to the world of events where I found my true passion. Having contact with clients, overseeing full logistics and the amount of elements involved to materialize an idea was very enriching. Marriott Casa Magna & the JW Marriott Cancun Resort and SPA, offered me the Social Events and Weddings Manager position, this experience taught me the huge difference between a corporate event and a social event, such as a wedding, which involves emotions in every step of the planning process. After working with weddings for a year, I went back to Groups and Conventions as a manager. I had the opportunity to work with worldwide recognized brands and accomplish success in every single event, from incentive events to large conferences and conventions. I moved over to a Destination Management Company at IVI DMC where I had the opportunity to know more about the destination and what it offers, to advise and guide clients on tours and excursions, flight manifests, hotels, restaurants and others. Events are part of my day to day and I am pleased to know that I do what I love and it gives me immense satisfaction. Having the opportunity to start Eventing with Mariel, my great friend and business partner, makes me proud because we do what we really love on a daily basis. After long months of putting ideas together, emails, calls, appointments, and other things, seeing the couple’s enjoyment makes all the hard work worthwhile. But not everything is work … when I’m not coordinating events, I take the chance to enjoy another one of my passions, sharing and having fun with my beautiful son, lovely husband, the best dog and my beloved family. We love to travel around the world and meet other cultures, rest at home or on the beach; we are food lovers and enjoy watching movies with lots of popcorn.
